This is bold climbing and not the best place for new climbers to push the grades. Of course, climbing more accessible routes gives any climber access to the more difficult lines.

The area’s laid-back vibe and stunning views of the surrounding landscape make it an excellent choice for families looking to spend quality time together outdoors. With its gentle terrain and abundance of beginner-friendly routes, Big Rock is a beautiful spot for introducing kids to rock climbing.

The best time to visit Big Rock is from October to April when the weather is mild and comfortable for climbing.

Approach


The approach to Big Rock is a short 10- 15-minute hike from the parking area.

The trail is relatively flat and easy to navigate, making it accessible for families with strollers or young children. The terrain is mostly rocky and sandy, with some shaded areas.
