We Are NomadicClan

NomadicClan is about building a life where family, work, education, travel, and adventure do not have to exist in separate boxes.

We are a family that has spent years living and working internationally, raising our children across cultures, exploring new places, and figuring out how to make a less conventional life actually work.

And when we say adventure, we mean more than getting on an airplane.

We climb. We hike. We explore mountains, cities, small towns, coastlines, and places that rarely make the standard travel itineraries. Sometimes the kids come with us. Sometimes the dogs do too. Sometimes an adventure goes perfectly. Plenty of times it doesn’t.

Those experiences are what NomadicClan is built around.

This Isn’t a Vacation Blog

There is a big difference between visiting somewhere for a week and building a life that allows you to keep exploring.

We are much more interested in the second one.

That means figuring out where to live, how to work internationally, how children fit into the equation, what outdoor adventures are realistic for families, how much things actually cost, what gear earns a place in the bag, and how you create enough stability to enjoy a life that is intentionally less stable.

We write about the parts that work and the parts that don’t.

If we recommend a climbing area, trail, piece of gear, neighborhood, school option, travel strategy, or way of working remotely, our goal is to tell you what we would want to know if we were making the same decision.

Adventure Is Part of the Lifestyle

Rock climbing has been part of our family’s life for decades, and the outdoors continues to shape how we travel.

You will find climbing throughout NomadicClan, but you will also find hiking, biking, camping, skiing, family adventures, and other ways of experiencing a place beyond its tourist attractions.

We are especially interested in places where a family can do more than visit.

Could you spend a month there? Could you work there? Could the kids have a real life there? Is there climbing nearby? Trails? Bikes? Mountains? A community?

Those questions often tell us far more about a destination than a list of its ten most popular attractions.

Building a Career Without Building Your Life Around One Location

Living internationally still requires an income.

A major part of NomadicClan is therefore about the other side of location independence: work.

We explore remote work, freelancing, consulting, entrepreneurship, international education, and careers that can make living abroad possible.

International teaching deserves particular attention. For qualified educators, working in accredited international schools can provide a genuine professional career overseas rather than a temporary travel job. We cover what those schools are, how international-school careers work, what qualifications matter, and what teachers should understand before moving abroad.

The goal isn’t to convince everyone to become a digital nomad. It is to show that there are more ways to build a life than many of us were taught.

Raising Kids in a Bigger World

Travel changed once we had children.

It became slower, messier, more complicated, and in many ways much better.

Our kids experience places differently than adults do. A climbing area, neighborhood park, local school, night market, train ride, or conversation with another child can become as important as the famous landmark we traveled to see.

We believe children can grow tremendously from experiencing different languages, cultures, landscapes, foods, people, and ways of thinking.

But we also know families need routines, education, healthcare, friends, security, and a sense of home.

NomadicClan explores both sides of that equation.

What You Can Expect From Us

We value first-hand experience.

We research extensively, but research is not a substitute for having actually done something. Whenever possible, our guides combine reliable outside sources with lessons from people who have been there, climbed it, hiked it, lived there, worked there, raised children there, or solved the problem themselves.

We also use affiliate links in some articles. When we do, we may receive a commission if you purchase through them. That does not change what we recommend. A bad product does not become good because someone offers us a commission.

Reader trust is worth considerably more than an affiliate sale.

Build Your Own Version

NomadicClan isn’t really about being nomadic.

It is about having choices.

Maybe your version means spending summers climbing in Europe. Maybe it means teaching internationally for ten years. Maybe it means taking your kids hiking every weekend. Maybe it means creating a remote business and moving overseas. Maybe you simply want more adventure without turning your entire life upside down.

There isn’t one correct version.

We are still building ours.

If NomadicClan can help you build yours, then this site is doing what we created it to do.

Explore more. Live intentionally. Build freedom together.
