This policy explains what personal data NomadicClan collects when you visit nomadicclan.com, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short because we collect very little.

Who we are

NomadicClan is a family travel and climbing blog run by Emmanuel Lacoste, 32 N Gould St, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States. For anything about your data, use our contact form or email editor@nomadicclan.com.

What we collect

When you read the site. Our host, Lyrical Host, keeps standard server logs: your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time. These help keep the site running and secure.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 through Google’s Site Kit plugin. It tells us which pages people read, roughly where readers are (country and city), what device they use and how they found us. If you are in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, analytics cookies are only set after you accept them in our cookie banner. We use this only to improve the site. We do not use it for advertising, and we have not linked it to Google Ads.

Fonts. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers and shares your IP address with Google.

When you contact us. If you send a message through our contact form, we receive your name, email address and message. A copy is saved in our WordPress site so we can reply and keep track of pitches.

When you click an affiliate link. Some links go to stores like Amazon, REI or Hotels.com through affiliate programs. When you click one, the store may set its own cookie so it can credit us if you buy. We do not see your name or what you bought, only that a sale happened. Read our affiliate disclosure.

Tours box. On some destination posts, a GetYourGuide box at the end of the article shows tours. It loads from GetYourGuide, which may set cookies under its own privacy policy.

We do not offer user accounts, take payments, run a newsletter, allow comments or show display ads.

Why we use your data (legal basis)

Who else handles your data

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

How long we keep it

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:

You can also withdraw consent for analytics at any time through the cookie settings on our cookie policy page. We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. If you are in the EU or UK, you can complain to your local data protection authority. If you are in California or another US state with a privacy law, you have similar rights, and we do not sell or share your data as those laws define it.

To use any of these rights, contact us through the form or at editor@nomadicclan.com. We reply within 30 days.

Children

NomadicClan is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (under 16 in the EU). If you think a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

Our service providers, including Google, may process data in the United States and other countries. Where needed, they rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Changes

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page.
